Ride with Confidence

Welcome to "Bit by Bit" Farm! At "Bit by Bit' we offer private riding lessons (English only!) for all ages and all skill levels. In addition, we instruct therapeutic riding sessions for special needs riders. We believe students, especially beginning riders, need individual attention in order to build strong basic skills, learn a balanced seat, and develop self-confidence.

Our Philosophy

At 'Bit by Bit' Farm, we concentrate on teaching our riders the joy of relating to horses rather than the pleasure of competition. We do not make a point of preparing riders for horse shows, although some of our riders are very successful competitors.

Our instruction focuses on:

Analyzing and correcting body mechanics
Developing a balanced, independent seat
Building clear communication skills between horse and rider
Creating a strong rapport with the horse

Many of the principles we teach are based on Sally Swift's Centered Riding. We want our riders to be safe, confident, secure, and have a wonderfully balanced seat. From there, we'll help them progress to the level they are most comfortable with.
